Vintage Computers

I’ve been interested in computers since I was a teenager in the mid ’70s and built an Altair 8800 computer kit. I remember saving up my money from summer jobs to place the order and the agonizing wait for it to arrive. It came in a huge box with roughly a gazillion integrated circuits, LEDs, wires, switches, resistors and capacitors. I can’t remember how long it took to build, but I distinctly remember the smell of soldering hundreds of components to the circuit boards. It was truly a ground up education in how computers worked.

I’ve recently become interested in vintage computing and have a few restoration projects going on. Some are for computer museums, some are for collectors, and some are for my personal collection
